Lisa DeLaat

Lisa is an FEI trainer, competitor and a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist.  Currently, Lisa has a string of talented horses that she will campaign in 2016 that range from training level to Grand Prix and will continue working towards her Gold medal.

Horses have always been at the center of Lisa’s life.  Her early love for, natural ability, and passion for horses fueled her decision to pursue a career as an equestrian professional.  She has been riding for almost 30 years.  In that time, she has worked her way through various riding disciplines from western to jumping.  However, she found herself most passionately drawn to the art of classical riding – Dressage.  She has been training dressage horses for the past 12 years and in that time she has worked for numerous top professionals who quickly realized her talent for riding horses of all types and stages of training.  Her methodical approach comes from her belief in developing horses with a solid, correct foundation that considers their physical, intellectual and emotional needs.

Lisa currently owns Performa Dressage located in Michigan.  While her main focus is training, instruction, competition and sales, Performa Dressage has been selected for the past 2 years to host and participate in the FHANA NA ABFP Testing.  Along with Willy Arts of California, the ABFP Testing program at Performa Dressage has made a considerable impact on the public perception of Friesians as sport horse prospects.  Lisa prides herself in giving these young mares, geldings and stallions a solid, correct foundation to go on to fulfill their careers to their fullest potential.
